The region presents a topography of varied favored vegetable mosaic: the ecological border; which increases the presence of birds like the parrot, the tocororo (national bird of Cuba), the negrito, the sparrow hawk, the carpenter and the sijú. In a same way, in the region inhabit seven endemic species of amphibians, among those stands out the frog Co-lin, denominated this way by the sound that emits.It is present the cynegetic fauna, mainly represented by the deer of white line, the jíbaro and the quail, besides jutías, mollusks, insects, spiders and bats, also dogs and cats introduced by the man.The breeding of bovine, swinish and poultry livestock is fomented as source of foods in the hillsides of the mountains.
