By its proximity to the Mountain range Sierra de Cubitas and Cayo Sabinal, Santa Lucia possesses a rich endemic and elegant flora. It is common to see on beaches a great variety of coconut trees, rose bushes, laurels and mariposas (National flower of Cuba), bougainvilleas, framboyans, atejes and savines.
