The isle has a tropical wet climate. There are two major seasons within the year according to temperatures and rainfall: one of abundant rainfall and high temperatures from May to October and another of scarce raining and low temperatures from November to April.
During the rainy season falls the 76% of the local 1560,7 mm (61 in) annual average. The rainiest month is June, with an average of 255,2 mm (10 in), and December is the driest, with 36,2 mm (1,4 in).
There is a mean annual temperature of 25,1o C (77o F), being 26,7o C (80o F) during the summer and 23,3o C (74o F)during the winter.
