Flora

Natural vegetation has been pretty much affected by human activities, but it is associated to coastal mangrove-tree communities, extended from the western end of the provincial coast to the mouth of river Vigil. Towards the east, natural vegetation is affected by agricultural crops. There are some mesophilous semi-deciduous woods, where the Copernicia rigida can be found, to the south of Nuevitas bay. The rest of the vegetation is cultural, with agricultural and pasture lands.
